The 1959 comedy Operation Petticoat follows the crew of a damaged U.S. Navy submarine during World War II. Led by the pragmatic Captain Sherman and the resourceful but conniving Lt. Nick Holden, the crew faces numerous challenges, including rescuing a group of stranded Army nurses and adapting the submarine for their presence. The resulting antics, including painting the submarine pink and evading enemy attacks, lead to chaos and laughs.
